Distance education books can be sourced at the local library. There are some authors who specialize in online degrees and distance learning and every year their directory is updated. These are informative and you can see the major offerings of the school. They might have more information than websites like cost of books and tuition. They can be navigated much easier that a site that contains hundreds of links that go to a form that is requesting information.
Finally, the traditional research method can be used by calling offices of admissions of universities and colleges that are nearby. Some schools are now developing online courses and they may not be current with their website updates about this. If you call them they should tell you if there any that are available. Be sure to find out when they are offering the course, so that plans can be made for this.
For example, if you want a degree online in psychology but the degree will not be ready for another 2 years, then you could take basic classes online in the meantime. Even if you have to switch the major, the basic courses are usually the same. The credits can be transferred and majors can be switched. There are many online degrees and you can do some research to find them.
